Garingal member Michele Dawson has been selected as a reserve in the 2010 Junior World Orienteering Championships (JWOC)  team. 

Michele's selection follows a great performance at the 2010 Australian 3 Days event in the ACT. 

Bendigo: Wednesday 30 September 2009:  The team relay event was held today at the same venue as the individual event.  The junior boys team was the first placed Australian team and the junior girls team was the second placed Australian team by 12 seconds.  Garingal juniors Huon Wilson, Chris Yuan, Michele Dawson and Matthew Hill all competed in the relays and had strong runs.

Following their successful runs in the individual and relay events, Michele Dawson and Matthew Hill were selected in the Australian Honours Team at the presentation evening.  Congratulations to Michele and Matthew on this great achievement.

Four Garingal juniors have been selected in the NSW Juniors team to compete in the Australian Schools Championships in Victoria later in the year.   Michele Dawson has been selected in the junior girls.  Chris Yuan and Matthew Hill have been selected in the junior boys.  Huon Wilson has been selected as a reserve in the senior boys.

The Sydney Schools Series concluded last Sunday with a spectacular final event on the foreshore at Callan Park, Rozelle.  There were individual, team and school prizes up for grabs and the juniors put in a big effort for the last race.

The overall final results for the series were:

Division A - Red 2/Long Orange - Matthew Hill
Division B - Short Orange - Aidan  Dawson
Division C - Green - Toby Wilson

Team - Kerry Xu, Aidan Dawson and Toby Wilson
School - North Sydney Boys High School.
