Summer or Winter?

Needless to say, the summer orienteers have emerged from their winter hibernation to commence a new season of chasing pavements around Sydney.  The summer series last Wednesday night was an exceptional event with Bennelong-Northside setting a course around the harbour foreshore at Balgowlah.  The course was long and had plenty of contours, with the maximum points being 550, but the run was well worth it as there were superb views of the harbour and some intricately set controls.  This coming week the Wednesday series moves to Garingal's annual event at Kirribilli.  We start at Milsons Park, Kirribilli and the course will traverse Kirribilli, Luna Park, under the Harbour Bridge and the northern foreshore of the harbour.  It is one of our favourite events for the year so make an effort to come along.  If you work or live on the south side of the harbour, don't forget that on Monday evening there is a southern summer series event at Watsons Bay.  If you are keen, you can cover both sides of the harbour in one week.

Last week saw the completion of the winter schedule of Junior League Races.  It was a stellar season with a large number of juniors regularly competing during the season.  The Garingal club took out the champion team trophy and many of our members starred in the individual categories.  Check out the picture of the Garingal juniors that attended the final event.
